Garage Door Questions from Emerald Coast Homeowners
What people ask us before, during and after a repair, answered plainly.
Questions We Hear Every Week
What does a visit from Gulf Line cost?
It depends on the part. Our service pages list starting prices for springs, cables, rollers and track work, and the diagnostic service call is listed at $0. The exact figure is written down at your garage before work begins.
Will someone pick up if I phone after dark or on a Sunday?
Yes. The line at (850) 750-4895 is answered around the clock, every day of the year, and a door that is stuck open or trapping a car gets priority.
My door banged and will not open. What now?
Leave it closed and keep the opener off. A loud bang usually means a spring broke, and forcing the door puts its full weight on the cables and the motor.
Do you work in Navarre even though it is in Santa Rosa County?
Yes. Navarre is one of our regular towns, and we are familiar with the county permit rule for exterior door replacements there.
How do you deal with salt air on hardware?
We clean off corrosion where we can, replace pitted parts and lubricate springs, hinges, rollers and bearings on every visit. Rinsing the door a few times a year helps too.
Is it possible to replace only one damaged panel?
Often it is, as long as the door maker still produces a matching section in the same style and color. The model sticker on the door edge tells us quickly.
Do I need a permit for a brand-new garage door?
Many local building departments, including Fort Walton Beach, Destin and Santa Rosa County, ask for one when a whole door is replaced. We supply the product approval details the permit office needs.
Which opener and door brands can you service?
We work on Clopay, LiftMaster, Amarr, Genie, Raynor, CHI, Chamberlain and Linear equipment, along with most other residential brands.
